Jackie McFarland has been actively involved in the art community as a painter, teacher and gallery director. Born in Minnesota, raised in Illinois, educated in Colorado, she has made the west her home since 1945.

An intense interest in the history and ecology of the West has provided the dominate theme for her watercolors and drawings. From rough mine buildings to sun splashed adobes - delicate columbine to hardy chamisa, she is able to translate her love of the region into memorable paintings.

In addition to painting, much time is spent in promoting the arts. Active memberships in the Colorado Watercolor Society, is a Signet Watercolor member, compete with the organizing and conducting of workshops and classes and participation in regional juried and invitational exhibits.
