Frank Rodriguez was born and raised in Alamosa, southern Colorado on the border of New Mexico. He is an avid fly fisherman and works with the Forest Service. He is in constant search of interesting pieces of fallen wood and driftwood which he stock piles near his studio to carve. Inspired by the natural forms and textures in the wood he carves unique boxes with primitive designs of animals, flowers and birds. The carved boxes are finished with an antique patina, sometimes waxed and embellished with old pieces of found hardware.
