Tamara Simmons was born in post-war Germany. Thanks to her mother's and grandmother's encouragement, she began painting at an early age. In the 1960's Tamara immigrated with her family to the United States and settled in Maryland.
Throughout her teens she attended the Corcoran School of Fine Art in Washington, D.C.. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Fine Art. |

Since moving to Fort Collins, Colorado in the 1990's Tamara has studied with a number of respected artists. Throughout her years of study she has developed a classical, old-world style that is now present in her paintings. Tamara derives her inspiration from the beauty that surrounds us, be it a realistic still-life arrangement or the grandeur of our landscape.
Tamara is a member of Oil Painters of America and she has received corporate, regional and national awards. In 2006 Tamara was invited to participate in the 15th Annual Colorado Governor's Invitational Art Show. Her paintings are held in selected public collections as well as private collections worldwide.
